Yup..called that one.
Columbus, by virtue of their philosophy of trading bodies for picks has now apparently called up Mayorov and MacKenzie. Shocker. This is most likely what we will see the rest of the year. Either players consistently shuffled up and down (therefore fatigued for our games) or just Syracuse being short handed and forced to use either extra D-men on attack or ECHL callups.
I guess that’s why my excitement of a 6 point weekend was subdued. You could see the other shoe dropping a mile away.
As I said before, Columbus’ season is done. The next few weeks will be showcasing of any 2-way contracts they have. That sucks for our team. I get that this is what Columbus has to do right now, but it was their own trades that caused it…so hell yeah I’m annoyed. But what can ya do? At least we still have a tiny bit of hope…we at least have that over the fruitless Jackets.

Shame this has to happen every year, be it by injury, “atmosphere”, or other. Shame it also happens right as the Crunch starts showing some sparkle. Gets tiresome and is yet another reason why end of the year runs so so bad: we usually don’t have the players to sustain things.
