Kyle Palmieri gets first NHL goal.
Quick update for you guys. Last night Kyle Palmieri got his first NHL goal to tie the game in the third period against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Palmieri was on the third scoring line and the power play last night. For the record, the goal was a beauty. Congratulations to Kyle and may you have many more in the future.
If you only care about Kyle’s goal, skip to the 1:25 mark.

Good for him! We knew he was talented. It’ll be interesting to see where this goes. Is his development “done”? Does it even make sense, contract and money wise, to keep him up there? Or would he work even better as an amazing fall back guy for when injuries occur, with him getting the most minutes he can possibly get down here to keep him sharp. Obviously we’d like the second and could probably make a good argument for it, but just like with Fowler maybe it isn’t needed. Either way, he’s a good kid and I’m glad he got the look. He deserved it.

There is no doubt that the main reason Nick Bonino, Josh Green, and Kyle Palmieri were called up is due to injury. When Sexton, Beleskey, and Chipchura get back from injury I think you could expect the return of your three. However, as of late Bob Murray (our GM) has basically been saying to the Ducks get your shit together or we will find someone else to play. He even went to say that even one of the big three could go on the trading block. I think right now Ducks management is sort of kicking the tires to see what they have coming up and if they do move one of the big three which guys could come up to fill a spot or two.

you will likely see one if not all of them back once the injuries are healed…you may also see a rotation of the two way guys, as they have done well in some cases, and not in others….RC will keep who he likes as long as they don’t blow it, he is merciless at times, but has been more accepting of new blood lately….they control their destiny as it were….especially at LW and center..

Adding to this…if the timetable that Jaffray set for himself to return is realistic (which it may or may not be) that would certainly be a nice addition to both rosters. If nothing else, it’s another talented forward to throw in the mix and give some flexibility on both ends of the call-up spectrum.
That being said, I wouldn’t hold my breath for him to be ready to play as soon as all that. Even if he was ready, you’d have to wonder about rust and getting familiar with a new system, etc. Should be interesting, to say the least.
