It may be awhile before we see Nick Bonino and/or Peter Holland in Syracuse again. Anaheim announced Monday evening that forward George Parros had surgery on his torn retina and will miss four weeks.
Parros tweeted a photo of the injury on Friday after taking a puck to the left peeper in practice. The Ducks called Holland up from the Crunch the next morning. The 2009 first-rounder took 15 shifts that night in his NHL debut, a 5-0 loss at Detroit.
Bonino was recalled on Oct. 31, but has been hampered by injury. The 23-year-old pivot had left Syracuse’s practice early that day with a sore ankle and has played just once since his call-up, a Nov. 1 overtime loss in Washington.
