If you’ve been following me or the Crunch/staffers on Twitter, then you know the Big Boys from Tampa are in town today. Steve Yzerman stopped in to chat with our old buddy Brent Axe. What follows is a series of quotes that I pulled from his interview with Brent this afternoon and posted on my Twitter account, as I often do for my followers. He chatted with Yzerman during his afternoon radio show, On the Block with Brent Axe. If you aren’t following me on Twitter, then you might want to for the latest site updates, Crunch news, and live interview tweets like these!
We’re excited to get a look around the facilities. (We) came in about a year ago when we were looking into changing our affiliate. We like the location, it’s centrally located. Howard and Jim being with the team for so long…very good, stable partnership. It should be a pretty entertaining and highly skilled group coming here (to Syracuse). Our number one priority it to develop players. Part of that is winning. We like to play an uptempo game and compete really hard. It’ll be a large group coming w/us from Norfolk, but also some new faces stepping up from juniors and college as well.
During the interview, Yzerman also said once and for all that former Crunch player Alexandre Picard will not be making a return to Syracuse, at least with a Crunch jersey on.
I will be tweeting the podcast link of this interview once it’s posted by The Score! Big thanks to them for doing such amazing work, and for, you know, not suing me.
