Since the Crunch or the league won’t give us anything to talk about, we’ll make our own news!
One of the biggest things MJ did for us before he went on hiatus two years ago was find a contributor from the Anaheim side of things. With reporting in Syracuse tending towards a negative one-sided view point of our relationship with the Ducks, we thought it was important to be different by being as welcoming as we could be to both fan bases involved in our organization. Although there were a few philosophical disagreements over the two years, I think we managed to keep things pretty friendly and keep our readers updated on both sides of the affiliation. Newport Reb did an awesome job, and we thank him for his service and entries over the years.
Going into our new affiliation with Tampa Bay, I wanted to keep things in that same spirit. It was important to me to create some kind of similar relationship with a Tampa blogger. Just as AHL fans take issue with NHL fans who stick their heads in the ground and ignore the farm system, I take issue with AHL fans who don’t bother to learn much about what’s going on at the upper level. I want this affiliation with Tampa to work and be as positive as it can. So, as I started to add Twitter followers and follow people back, I kept my eye open for a person that I thought would fit in well here at CH.
I do believe I have found that person.
Ladies and gents, please welcome Mike Gallimore! Mike had his own Lightning blog, and his work there was enough to grab the attention of another well-known group. Accepting their invitation, Mike put his own blog on hiatus and joined with our buddies over at Bolt Prospects. He currently resides in the Tampa area, and given his affiliation with BP we’re confident he’ll provide us with great Tampa coverage while also keeping the Crunch side of things in mind. We are very, very excited to welcome Mike G. to Chairman How’s!
